Hi there!

My name is Jonathan Song, DDS. I am a general dentist in greater Los Angeles and Orange County Area.

I was born in the US, but spent most of my childhood and teens in South Korea. Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota (UMN), School of Dentistry in 2014, I completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (RLANRC), Downey, CA, as “the best resident of the year”.

I have always enjoyed learning and enhancing my skills to expand the boundary of my knowledge. Decade into my career now, I continue to spend 100+ hrs in continuing education courses and business classes every year. Day by day, I strive to learn and finesse my clinical skill as well as knowledge in business and management aspects of dentistry. I love providing values to people. Their gratitude gives me joy and energy to make positive impact in this world. Best way for me to do that is by offering what I’ve learned and what I can do in dentistry, so I continue to learn.

Clinically, I am in the path to be a super GP, who can handle Full Mouth Rehabilitation (KOIS DENTISTRY) emphasis in implant therapy and esthetic smile design / enhancement. I love surgical side of dentistry, especially dental implants. And I continue to work on restorative skills including composite veneers and biomimetic restorations (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry - AACD).

My ownership journey started in 2016, shortly after graduation from GPR Program. I evaulated physically, financially, and operationally at least 2-3 dental practices in the market during 4 years until COVID in 2020. I was involved with many escrows and negotiations. Having gone through so many buyer’s process like that, I understand what the buyer dentists go through, of which includes fear of unknown stemming from many aspects of dental practice transition.

In 2018, I acquired 2 practices which I own and operate still today, and in 2022, I acquired my 3rd location. All of them are different settings including patient profile, operator characteristics, team atmosphere, etc. Having solved so many different problems that arise in day-to-day dental office management, I went through most of the problems in owning and operating dental office, especially since I am in the trenches with new owners or owners-to-be, just like yourself. I started offering my services to my colleagues and that’s how Song Dental Management was started.

Currently, I own and operate 3 dental offices with great team of talents, and we have a goal to own and operate 5 prospering dental offices with a central managerial entity by 2027, totaling $10M. We plan to record our journey here to see the good and bad times of the “MAKING OF A DSO” (Blog posts to be uploaded soon).

We created Song Dental Partners to do just that and also to provide similar services to others in need. Monthly, we bring in 1-2 experts for a LIVE-Webinar/Lectures and Q&A sessions (SDP Webinar Series), so we can all learn from them and to share the knowledge we gain to others. Anyone can come join us and ask questions live at the time or the speakers contact info and recorded session is available on our SDP Webinar Series.

Aside from dentistry, I love anything related with fitness, readings, any new experiences, and movies with good stories.

Looking forward to our amazing experience together!
